Congratulations

Congratulations to our kindergarten and eighth grade graduates! God bless you as you begin first grade and your freshman year.

Friday Mass/Last Day of School

This week is our last week of school! We will have a school Mass on Friday at 9:00 a.m. with our SMS staff doing the readings. Please join us if you can. Dismissal will be at 11:30. Please be prompt arriving for your child(ren) – no bus will be available that day. Have a safe, restful summer vacation! Our first school day for the next term is Tuesday, August 31.

Free Tuition Raffle

At the conclusion of today’s Mass, Fr. Wayne drew out the winning raffle ticket for a free tuition for the next school year. The winner is Juan Murillo, a relative of Ponciano and Elba Gomez, owners of Fiesta en Jalisco. Thank you to Doug and Karri Parisi for their generous donation for this raffle.

2010 – 2011 Registration

Pre-registration continues this week through Friday. Pay the book/materials fee ($85) and insurance fee ($10) per student by June 4 and receive a $100 tuition reduction per student. Registration forms are in the school office.

SMS Athletic Director

I am pleased to announce Pam Schoenen has accepted the position of athletic director for our school teams. She has already been busy setting the game schedules, lining up coaches, and suggesting new ideas. We are looking forward to another successful season. Thank you, Pam!

Middle School Summer Reading Lists

Parents, be watching for your child(ren)’s summer reading list which will be included with their final report cards. This year’s 5th, 6th and 7th graders are required to choose a book to read from the list which will be their first literature project when returning to school in the fall.

SCRIP

SCRIP will continue to be available through the summer months. Please call the school (222-3303) and leave a message with your request. We will check messages often and contact you to make arrangements for delivery.

Hot Lunch Kitchen Aid

Chris Seaton has agreed to take on the position of hot lunch coordinator for the next school year. We are looking for an aid to assist her for about 2 ½ hours per day. Please call the school office if you are interested.

Parent Work Hours  

Just a reminder, each family must earn 30 work hours each school year. Please come in the office to fill out your work slips so we can credit you.   St. Thomas Summer Camp

We have this year’s information brochures for 2010 enrollment in St. Thomas summer camps. This camp is located in Monarch, Montana, and is open to boys and girls grades 5 – 9. Stop by the office to pick up a brochure any time.

SMS Scholarship Committee

St. Mary’s School Scholarship Committee works to raise money to fund scholarships for families of our school. The major work is an annual letter of appeal sent out in late fall to parishioners and alumni. This committee is recruiting two new members. Please consider volunteering your time and talent to this important work. Call the school office for further information (222-3303).
